• Are Children welcome?

Yes! We are a family campsite and all of our yurts can sleep a family. We provide a selection of toys and activities for children on site.

  • Will we be warm and dry enough?

All of our yurts and are waterproof and have wood stoves to help keep them cosy and warm. We provide some blankets, but please make sure you bring warm clothing and waterproofs.

  • Do we need to bring bed linen/towels?

Yes. We do not provide duvet covers, sheets, pillow cases or towels. However, should you forget these we do have a limited amount of bed linen for hire available on request.

  • Can we bring our dog?

Unfortunately, as Longmeadow is a working farm and we have our own dog, we do not allow campers to bring their own pets.

  • Do you provide firewood?

You will be given a complementary basket of firewood and kindling for the wood stove on arrival. Any additional wood you may require, can be purchased from us.

  • Is there internet access?

No, unfortunately we do not currently have wi fi available, but there is strong 4G.

  • Where is the nearest shop/pub?

The farm has its own vegetarian shop/cafe open 5 days a week. There are 3 good pubs and a general store only 3 miles away in the village of Cerne Abbas. The market town of Dorchester is only 5 miles away offering a wider range of shops and pubs.

Safety..

  • We have a small river running along the site. Children are more than welcome to paddle, but please make sure they are accompanied by an adult at all times.

  • We have chickens and pigs on the farm. Please make sure the gates are shut behind you and wash your hands if you touch the animals.

  • We also have a lovely friendly dog called Tilo. He loves children and fetching sticks! Please don't throw stones for him as it's bad for his teeth. Unfortunately we don’t allow you to bring your own dogs to the site.

  • The campsite itself is car free, but you are welcome to drive your car to your yurt to drop off your belongings. The track is bumpy and can be muddy, so please drive slowly and carefully. There is a car park a short walk away by the farm shop.

  • Longmeadow is a working farm. Please use caution around tractors and farm implements when walking through the farm. We ask that guests do not go into the barn or poly tunnel areas.

  • The Yurt platforms are made from timber planks - please avoid getting splinters by wearing shoes when you are on the platform.

  • There are instructions for the wood stoves in the yurts – please make sure you read these and use them properly. Please take responsibility of little hands near hot wood stoves. There are smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors in each yurt.

  • We ask that you only have open fires in the fire pits provided.
